We get it, Walmart. You’re a giant company that can put its big ol’ boots on and stomp out local competition. But local farmers and farmers markets? C’mon!
A new TV commercial airing of late wants you to know where you can get the BEST PRODUCE ANYWHERE. Not your local grocery store. And certainly not your local farmers market -- if you’re lucky enough to have one in your town. No, it’s at Walmart. Aren’t you surprised? You're supposed to be.
And to demonstrate this point, the ad shows a fresh-faced Walmart representative showing up at a farmers market in Anytown, USA, encouraging customers to try the Walmart fresh produce. Not the stupid locally grown stuff. The customers, of course, rave about the quality of the fruits and veggies, and one says something like, “I know where I’ll be getting my fresh produce from now on!”
